Valentango by Bikeshare 2018

Tilikum CrossingMeet up with some of Portland’s bike riding dancers and see the beautiful night time views of Portland at its best – by bike! This is a leisurely flat ride so you’ll arrive back at the DoubleTree refreshed and ready to dance.

Warm up for the Friday night Valentango milonga with a ride along Portland’s beautiful waterfront and enjoy our one and only car-free bridge over the Willamette – the Tilikum Crossing.

We ride rain or moonshine. If the night is clear, we’ll take the ride back to it’s roots with home made treats and outdoor dancing. If it’s going to be wet or sort of, we’ll warm up at Ford Food and Drink in the historic Ford Building.

We have bikes aplenty thanks to Portland’s bikeshare program Biketown. There are bike stations all over town, but importantly one is located directly in front of the DoubleTree. Whether you’re visiting from out of town or live right here, there are bikes waiting for you.

Date: Friday Feb 9, 2018
Times:
7:45 – 8:00 Meetup at the DoubleTree Hotel
8:00 – 8:30 Ride along the waterfront to the Tilikum Crossing
8:45 – 9:45 Coffee and dessert!
9:45 – 10:00 Ride back to the DoubleTree

What, it’s not enough that we escort you through this fantastic town for scenic beauty and dessert???!!! There are also prizes! Clay has generously offered one free entry to the Grand Ball and one free entry to the workshop of your choice. The DoubleTree has also once again offered a gift certificate for their restaurant Gather. So come join us, there will be a drawing for winners at the end of the ride.

Important! The easiest way to get a bike through the bikeshare program is with the biketown app. The app is free, but it will need payment info when you actually reserve a bike. (Two single rides – $5 round-trip) Please have the app loaded before we meet. You can also use the link above to reserve a bike through their website, but the app is easiest, just sayin.

To help me plan, please let me know if you’d like to ride along by using the comment form below. Your “comments” will not published. Route below:
